Electrical stimulation intensifies the effect of acupuncture: Two points are electrically connected via the needle handles and the acupuncture points are stimulated, especially in cases of chronic pain syndromes and acute pain of the musculoskeletal system. The current intensity is always set according to the pain tolerance threshold. Stimulation lasts for 10–20 minutes. The electrostimulation is not painful.
